TUCSON, Ariz. – The New Mexico State men's golf team opens play for the spring season Friday and Saturday at the Arizona Intercollegiate at the Sewailo Golf Club.
 
The Aggies are part of a 16 team field to open 2016 that includes host Arizona, BYU, Cal State Fullerton, Denver, Iowa State, New Mexico, Santa Clara, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois, Texas Utah, UTEP, Washington and Washington State.
 
The Aggies, led by senior Kenneth Fadke II, start the championship season and the drive toward a fourth consecutive Western Athletic Conference title. NM State has won the last three WAC Championships and eight out of the last 10.
 
The NM State lineup also has freshman Davis Chung, sophomore Mike McGilton, junior Luis Medina and sophomore Isaac Merry.
 
Action starts at 8 a.m. on Friday with a shotgun start with the teams playing two continuous rounds. The Aggies are grouped with UTEP, Iowa State and Santa Clara, starting on the back 9 from holes 10 to 13 for the first two rounds.
 
Saturday's single 18-hole round has a shotgun start at 8:30 on the par 71, 7.262 yard Sewailo Course.
