LAS VEGAS, Nev.  – New Mexico State's No. 1 doubles pair of Luis Flores and Christofer Goncalves extended their win-streak to 12-straight matches on Friday, advancing to the semifinals for doubles action at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships hosted by Darling Tennis Center.
 
The Aggie duo first took down Utah State's pair 8-6 to get to the quarterfinals. The two then had a hard-fought match against UNLV's Ruben Alberts and Jacob Amilon which went in favor of the Aggies, 8-7.
 
In the doubles consolation bracket, Enrique Asmar and Sergi Espias downed Max Korkh and Ignacio Tejerina of Montana 8-4. The Aggie pair of Mauri Benitez and Stijn de Haan advanced to the quarterfinals before dropping an 8-5 match to UNM's pair.
 
Goncalves saw his singles winning-streak of 12 come to an end of Friday when he fell to Amilon 6-3, 7-5 in the quarterfinals. On the consolation side, Benitez moved on with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Air Force's Mack Galvin.
 
The Aggies will have three matches on Saturday at the Darling Tennis Center with Flores and Goncalves up first in the semifinal round of doubles, followed by Asmar and Espias in the consolation bracket. In singles action, Benitez will look to get another win when he battles Felipe Fonseca of Idaho.
