DENVER – Junior Ariadnne Sierra has been named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 17-23, the conference announced on Monday. This is Sierra's first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor.
 
A product of El Paso, Texas, Sierra set two career highs and averaged 6.12 digs, 1.12 service aces and 1.12 assists per set as the Aggies continued their undefeated streak in WAC play. Against Utah Valley on Thursday, Sierra racked up a career-high 31 digs, five assists and three service aces in a five-set thriller in Orem, Utah. In the Aggies' first-ever sweep of Seattle U on Saturday, Sierra posted 18 digs, a career-high six service aces and four assists.
 
Sierra, who started the week averaging 4.54 digs and 0.29 service aces per set, now ranks third in the WAC in both digs (4.68) and service aces (0.36) per set.
 
The Aggies close out the regular season home schedule this week as they welcome Grand Canyon on Thursday and CSU Bakersfield on Saturday.
