First Round Results
LAS CRUCES, N.M. –
Kennedie Montoya and
Kristen Cline are tied for fourth place heading into Tuesday's second round of the NM State Aggie Invitational at the University Golf Course. As a team, the Aggies sit in second place (295) and lead the field firing 65 holes for par.
All five starters on the Aggies place in the top-25 after 18 holes. Montoya and Chanachai each fired a one-under (71). The two golfers combined for seven birdies in the first round. Montoya leads the team with a 3.90 stroke average on par-4 holes and Chanachai leads the field with a 4.25 average on the par-5 holes.
Vale Macias is in a tie for 16th (76), which included a tie with
Kristen Cline for a team-leading 14 holes for par. Cline and
Camille Orito each tied for 21st (77). Accompanying them in a tie for 21st are
Angela Xu and
Maria Prado, who are competing as individuals. Rounding out the team, also competing as an individual is
Lauren Blumears who is in a tie for 56th (85).
Heading into the second round, UC Irvine is in first (293), NM State is in second (295), UTEP is in third (297), South Dakota State is in fourth (299) and Stephen F. Austin is in fifth (305).
Tuesday's round tees off at 8:30 a.m. MT with a shotgun start.
