Second Round Results
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Heading into the final day of the Aggie Invitational at the University Golf Course, NM State sits alone atop the leaderboard at 594 (+18), four strokes ahead of second place South Dakota State. As a team, the Aggies lead the field in holes for par (123) and are second in birdies (15), after two rounds.
The five starters for NM State place in the top-20.
Kennedie Montoya has sole possession of first place after firing a 71-71—142 (-2), over two days.
Pun Chanachai, 71-74—145 (+1), sits in third. Montoya leads the field in scoring average on Par-3 (2.88) and Par-4 (3.95) holes, while Chanachai is tied for the lead on the Par-5 (4.63). Montoya's seven birdies over 36 holes are also a tournament best.
Kristen Cline has scored 77-76—153 (+9) to put her in a tie for 14th place.
Camille Orito and
Vale Macias moved up the leaderboard to tie for 18th (155) in the second round after shooting a 78 and 79, respectively.
For the individuals,
Maria Prado shot a career-best 76 to put her total at 153 (+9) and move into a tie for 14th.
Angela Xu shot an 80 to put her score at 157 (+13) and put her in a tie for 25th. Rounding out the Aggie individuals was
Lauren Blumears who shot an 81 in the second round to move up to a tie for 51st.
Heading into the third and final round, NM State is in first (594), South Dakota State is in second (600), UTEP is in third (604), UC Irvine is in fourth (607) and Stephen F. Austin is in fifth (610).
Wednesday's round tees off at 8:30 a.m. MT with a shotgun start.
