Aggies Release Promotional Calendar for Women’s Basketball 2016-17 Season

The 2016-17 promotional calendar has been unveiled for the entirety of the women’s basketball season

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The 2016-17 promotional schedule for women's basketball has been released and features turkey bowling, concession specials, a chance to win a TV and the world-renowned Red Panda halftime act.
 
The season and home-opener on Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. (MT) will be the first game of a doubleheader with men's basketball on Military Appreciation Day. The Aggies will also reveal their 2016 WAC Championship and NCAA Banner. At the game, students will have their first opportunity to enter in a raffle to win a TV at the final regular season game. Students can register once per home game, all season long at the marketing table.
 
Wednesday, Nov. 23 against Pepperdine, the Aggies will host a food drive and videos highlighting what the players are most thankful for. Also, during halftime there will be frozen turkey bowling which fans will be randomly selected to participate in.  
 
Next up, women's basketball hosts New Mexico Highlands on Friday, Nov. 25. This game will feature a black Friday special in which fans can purchase discounted tickets to select upcoming games. Then on Nov. 30, world-renowned Red Panda, beings her halftime act to the Pan American Center as the Aggies host New Mexico.
 
Pac-12 power Arizona comes to town on Dec. 4 when NM State will be hosting band and cheer day for local schools. To close out 2016, the Aggies host Western New Mexico on Dec. 31. This game will highlight New Year's resolutions, with giveaways. Post-game, the women's basketball team will be there for autographs and photos, an event which will happen at each Saturday afternoon contest.
 
The Jan. 5 match up with UMKC gives fathers and daughters a chance to watch Aggie hoops. Dad & Daughter Night will feature promotions aimed at highlighting that special relationship. The next opportunity for post-game autographs and pictures will take place on Saturday, Jan. 7, against Chicago State.
 
The Aggies will take a brief road trip and return home on Thursday, Jan. 26. This night will see NM State host a Local Hero Day celebrating all of our police, first responders, firefighters and all of our many other heroes.
 
Following Local Hero Day, the Aggies will host Utah Valley on Saturday, Jan. 28. Before the game, there will be a free kid's basketball clinic where they can learn the fundamentals of the game. On top of that great opportunity, the Aggies will celebrate youth sports.
 
Up next, women's basketball takes on CSU Bakersfield on Thursday, Feb. 9. The evening will highlight NM State's fraternities and sororities with Greek Night and a toga party.
National Women in Sports Day will be hosted on Feb. 11 against Grand Canyon where NM State Athletics will invite all local and regional girls youth sports and middle school teams in the area. Selected NM State women's teams will also be in attendance and available for post-game autographs. This afternoon match up will be NM State's annual pink, Play 4 Kay game.
 
Wrapping up the regular season at home, women's basketball hosts UTRGV on Saturday, Feb. 18. Being the last home contest of the season, NM State will honor the five senior basketball players. This game will also reveal the winner of the TV giveaway which will be raffled off at halftime.
