SAN ANTONIO, Texas – New Mexico State senior
Kenneth Fadke II fired a 2-over-par 146 to sit in a sixth place tie after the first two rounds of the UTSA/Lone Star Invitational on Monday at the Briggs Ranch Golf Course.

A senior from Hobbs, N.M., Fadke shot an even-par 72 in the first round, then followed it with a 2-over 74 in the second loop of the par 72, 7,247 yard Briggs Ranch course.

Led by Fadke, the Aggies posted a 300 in the opening round, but slipped to a 313 in the second round to drop to 13th at 613 after day one.

NM State got a pair of 78s from sophomore Mike McGilton from Chandler, Ariz./Perry, who is second on the team at 156.

Freshman
Davis Chung of Las Cruces, N.M./High and junior
Luis Medina of Guadalajara, Mexico/Montverde Academy both collected rounds of 3-over 75 in the first round, but suffered in the second. Medina carded an 81 to match McGillton's 156, while Chung tallied an 82 to sit at 157 Sophomore
Isaac Merry of Las Cruces, N.M./Onate recorded an 85 in round one, but came back team counting 80 in the second for a 165 total.

Playing as an individual and not counting in the team score, senior
Joey Martinez of Oro Valley, Ariz./Ironwood Ridge, chalked up scores of 80 and 87 for a 36-hole score of 167.

The New Mexico Lobo are leading the team competition after rounds of 293 and 286 to total 3-over 579 and lead by 16 strokes over North Texas who has a 595 in second. Rice is third at 597 with host UTSA fourth at 599.

Individually, Ohio State's Tee-k Kelly leads at with a 4-under 140, with a 4-undeer 68 in the first round and an even-par 72 in the second. Kelly is three strokes in front of UL Lafayette's Paul San, who is playing as an individual, and UNM's Gustavo Morantes who are tied at 1-under 143. Morantes shot a 6-under 66 in the second round.

The tournament concludes with a single 18-hole round on Tuesday, with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Mountain time. The Aggies will play open from the 12 through 14th holes, playing with Texas State, UL Lafayette and Miami (Ohio).
