LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State senior Viviana Macias was named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for her play last week.
 
Macias, a senior from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, led the Aggies to a fifth place finish at the MountainView Collegiate last Friday and Saturday in Tucson, Ariz. She fired a final round 3-under-par 69 to place eighth individually at 1-under 215.
 
Macias recorded her fourth top-10 finish of the season and currently leads the Aggies with a 73.27 scoring average.
 
The honor is Macias' second this season, as she was selected the WAC Women's Golfer of the Month in October.
 
Macias joins Missouri-Kansas City's Antoine Rozner, who was selected as this week's men's golfer of the week.
 
Macias and the Aggies will be in action again April 1-2 at the Dallas Athletic Club/SMU invitational.
