BROWNSVILLE, Texas – NM State women's tennis senior
Ashvarya Shrivastav headlined Thursday's Western Athletic Conference awards banquet on the women's side, earning WAC Player of the Year honors.

The Pune, India, product was the Aggies' anchor and team leader since arriving in Las Cruces. Shrivastav paces NM State in singles action with a 17-12 overall record in singles and 9-8 mark in dual play. She has split time between the top singles slot (5-7) and the No. 2 position (4-1) this season.

Joining Shrivastav on the podium is freshman
Eli Arnaudova, who earned Second-Team All-WAC honors in singles. Arnaudova wrapped up her first collegiate regular-season with an overall record of 8-8 and 7-3 mark in dual play, including a 6-2 mark at the No. 6 singles slot and 4-1 record in WAC play.

Rounding out the awards for NM State were its No. 1 and No. 3 doubles team. The No. 1 doubles duo of
Erika Castillo Lopez and
Gabrielle Joyce and the No. 3 doubles tandem of
Chloe Jolliff and
Lindsay Harlas earned Second-Team All-WAC doubles honors.

The Aggies finished the regular-season with an undefeated record of 5-0, earning their first-ever regular-season WAC title and looks to defend their WAC Championship title.

As the No. 1-seed, New Mexico State will play the winner between Seattle U and Chicago State on Saturday, April 30, at 8 a.m. (MT). The Redhawks and Cougars are set to square off on Friday, April 29, at 8 a.m. (MT) in the quarterfinals.
