DENVER, Colo. –  The New Mexico State men's tennis team placed five players on the Western Athletic Conference All-Tournament team as announced by the conference on Wednesday. The all-tournament team is voted on by particpating head coaches.

Christofer Goncalves headlines the all-tournament team in singles action with teammates
Mauri Benitez,
Stijn de Haan and
Liam Goldberg.

Goncalves and Benitez both went 2-0 at the WAC Championship while Goldberg and de Haan each went 1-0 over the weekend. Goncalves, a sophomore from Barquisimeto, Venezuela, not only clinched both matches for NM State at the tournament last weekend; he also clinched both matches that sent the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament.

This is the second-straight all-tournament selection for Goncalves and Goldberg in singles play while Benitez and de Haan each earned their first, both are freshmen.

On the doubles side, the Aggies' No. 2 doubles team of Goncalves and de Haan also earned all-tournament honors. The two went 1-0 in the conference championships with a 6-3 victory over UTRGV's No. 2 doubles team in the semifinals

New Mexico State is slated to play No. 8 Texas Tech in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at noon on Saturday, May 14, at the McLeod Tennis Center on the campus of Texas Tech University.
