DENVER, Colo. –
Ashvarya Shrivastav and
Rimpledeep Kaur of the New Mexico State women's tennis team were named to the Western Athletic Conference All-Tournament team on Wednesday. The all-tournament team is voted on by the participating head coaches.
Â
This is the second all-tournament selection for Shrivastav in singles play in as many years and the first for Kaur. It is also the second-straight year Shrivastav has been named to the all-tournament team in doubles, this time with Kaur as her teammate.
Â
Kaur has been a rock for NM State down the stretch. The sophomore won both of her matches in singles play in two sets and never gave up more than three points in each set. Shrivastav, a senior from Pune, India, had both of her matches unfinished in singles play.
Â
Kaur and Shrivastav teamed up to go 2-0 together in conference championships, downing Seattle U and UTRGV's No. 2 doubles team 6-2, respectively.
