TUCSON, Ariz. – New Mexico State men's tennis continued to find success in singles action on the second day of the Arizona Invitational. Christofer Goncalves, Mauri Benitez, Sergi Espias and Enrique Asmar all advanced to the finals in their respective draws. The team of Goncalves and Luis Pliego Flores also advanced to the finals in the main draw of the doubles bracket.
 
In doubles play, Goncalves and Flores bounced Legaretta and Kuehnen of Grand Canyon 6-2 to advance to the semifinals. Espias and Asmar fell victim to Pech and Moser of Fresno State 6-2, and de Hann and Benitez were bested by Handel and Equez of Northern Arizona 6-1. In the semifinals, Gonclaves and Flores dispatched Handel and Equez 6-1. They will face the winners of Pech and Moser of FSU and Stoica and Williams of Wichita State in the doubles final on Sunday.
 
In the open doubles bracket, Simon D'Alfonso teamed up with Bailey Gong of Fresno State. They were defeated by the team of McDaniels and Dunn.
 
In singles action, all four Aggies advanced to the finals in their respective draws. In Draw A, Christofer Goncalves knocked off Joel Popov of San Diego State 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. He will face off against Will Kneale of Arizona in the Draw A final on Sunday.
 
In Draw B, Mauri Benitez took down GCU's Justin Cvitanovic 6-3, 7-5. Sergi Espias downed Arizona's Jose Zamorano 6-0, 6-3. Draw B's final will be all Aggies, as Benitez and Espias take on each other.
 
In Draw C, Enrique Asmar cruised past Mike Lee of Arizona 6-3, 6-2.  Asmar will face Ruben Montano of NAU in the Draw C final.
 
Action will conclude on Sunday with the finals in both the doubles and singles brackets.
