LAS CRUCES, N.M. – A pair of doubles teams for the New Mexico State women's tennis team are set vie for the doubles title in their respective flights Sunday after flying past their opponents on Saturday at the Aggie Invitational.
 
The duo of Gabrielle Joyce and Rebecca Keijzerwaard has yet to lose a game together to start the season. The two took cruised past Tarleton State's pair of Ashleigh Elward and Erika Richarme on Saturday in the white doubles flight.
 
In the crimson flight, Lindsay Harlas and Vanessa Casas edged UTEP's doubles team 8-6. Eli Arnaudova teamed up with New Mexico's Ruth Copas to take down Grand Canyon's 8-6 as well while Fanni Novak and Sarah Van Eeckhoudt dropped their silver flight match 8-4 to round out doubles action for the Aggies.
 
Singles play was a little tougher on the Aggies will Arnaudova and Van Eeckhoudt the only two to tally victories for NM State in the silver (round robin) flight. Keijzerwaard and Joyce both rallied in the second set to force a third in their respective matches, but couldn't pull off the comeback.
 
The NM State pair of Joyce and Keijzerwaard will look to take home their first doubles title together on Sunday in the white flight while Harlas and Casas looks battles for the doubles crown in the crimson flight.
 
The final day of the Aggie Invitational is set to begin at 9 a.m. (MT) with doubles action before singles starts. Fans can also come by the NMSU Tennis Center to purchase the women's tennis calendar for $20.
