TUCSON, ARIZ. – After two days and three rounds of play at the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson, Ariz., New Mexico State men's golf finished in 14th place out of 18 teams. NM State finished with a score of 919 (+67).
Jack Snyder paced the team with scores of 78-77-69—224 (+11) which put the freshman in a tie for 29th. Snyder's score of 69 in round three was a team-best.
Luis Medina finished next with rounds of 75-79-74, good for a total of 228 (+15), which placed him in a tie for 49th. Snyder led the team with 10 birdies and Medina posted the second most with six.
Isaac Merry posted an 83-75-75—233 (+20) which put the junior in a tie for 66th.
Davis Chung put up totals of 83-78-76—237 (+24) to finish in a tie for 72nd. Chung also registered the only eagle for the Aggies over the three rounds.
Freshman Ryo Harada made his first career appearance as an Aggie at the Arizona Intercollegiate and rounded out the squad with scores of 80-82-78—240 (+27), which put him in a tie for 82nd place.
After the two-day competition, Oregon took home first-place honors with a score of 857 (+5), Pepperdine came in second with a total of 869 (+17) and Washington rounded out the top-three posting a total of 873 (+21).
NM State men's golf will play next at the All-America Intercollegiate, Feb. 17-19, on the Golf Club of Houston in Houston, Texas.
