ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico State men's tennis team wrapped up its third-straight week of action this weekend, this time at the Lobo Invitational with three Aggies winning their respective singles flights.
Christofer Goncalves and
Luis Flores returned to the win column on Sunday and finished their tournament action with a 3-1 mark in doubles play after besting Air Force and Abilene Christian's teams 6-4 and 6-3, respectively.

Stijn de Haan and
Mauri Benitez followed suit as well, besting their foes 6-4 in both matches against AFA and ACU.
Enrique Asmar and
Sergi Espias split their match on Sunday, taking down Air Force's No. 3 pair 6-2 before falling to Abilene Christian's tandem 7-5.

Louis Menard and
Alejandro Rosas Garcia wrapped things up in doubles play with a 6-2 win over Northern Arizona's pair 6-2 before teams began singles play.

In a preview of the Battle of I-25 later in the spring, NM State came away with a pair of wins. Goncalves was named the victor when his opponent withdrew while Espias picked up the other win for the Aggies with a hard-fought 7-6, 3-6, 6-0 win over the Lobos' Sean Baklini.

Goncalves, Espias and Menard ended the weekend the winners of their respective flights in singles action while all three Aggie doubles teams came in third.

New Mexico State now get a couple weeks to recuperate and make adjustments before heading to Provo, Utah, the ITA Regional Championships (Oct. 18-21) on the campus of BYU.
