EL PASO, TEXAS – The New Mexico State men's golf team wrapped up the 54-hole Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational at the Butterfield Trail Golf Club on Sunday. Through three rounds of play the Aggies shot a 281-294-292—867 (+15) to finish in seventh place out of 13 teams.
Team play for NM State was led by
Tadhg Campbell who shot 67-71-74—212 (-1) to finish in ninth on the individual leaderboard.
Isaac Merry followed at three-over, 216, to tie for 17
th.
Michael McGilton fired a 71-75-73—219 (+6) which put the Aggie in a tie for 27
th.
Jack Snyder tied for 37
th with scores of 72-75-75—222 (+9). Rookie
Taylor Stote completed the Aggie starting lineup with 71-81-78—230 (+17) which put the golfer in a tie for 69
th.
Among the NM State individuals,
Tyler Svendson led the way with rounds of 72-79-71—222 (+9) to finish in a tie for 37
th.
Ryo Harada shot a 75-72-78—225 (+12) to tie for 50
th.
Cooper Donahue and
Davis Chung each fired a 231 (+18) which put the Aggies in a tie for 72
nd.
Host UTEP took home first place with a tournament score of 839 (-13), followed by No. 24 Marquette in second with a team total of 849 (-3) and Oral Roberts in third at 858 (+6).
NM State men's golf now takes a break before beginning the spring season at the Arizona Intercollegiate, Jan. 29-30, at the Sewailo Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.
