LAS VEGAS – The New Mexico State women's golf team completed the first round of play at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Sunday. Over the first 18 holes, the Aggies shot a 289 (+1) which put the team in a tie for eighth out of 16 teams.
Dominique Galloway led the charge for NM State on day one with a score of 70 (-2) which put the Aggie in a tie for 14
th.
Maria Prado shot a one-under, 71, to tie for 19
th. Galloway and Prado fired three birdies apiece to lead the Aggies in round one.
Pun Chanachai and
Kennedie Montoya tied for 48
th as they each fired a 74 (+2). Freshman TIegan Taylor's three-over, 75, put the Aggie in a tie for 58
th at the end of the first day of play in Las Vegas.
Missouri sits atop the team leaderboard with a team total of 275 (-13), followed by host UNLV in second at 277 (-11) and San Jose State in third with a score of 278 (-10).
