Aggie Football Battles Red Wolves on Homecoming

NM State football gets set to take on Sun Belt foe Arkansas State on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. MT.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State football team plays host to Sun Belt Conference foe Arkansas State on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. MT. The evening's contest is Homecoming/Ag Day sponsored by the New Mexico Farm & Livestock Bureau.

WHERE TO WATCH
For those who can't make it to the game can catch the contest on AggieVision with Adam Young on the play-by-play and Danny Knee serving as the analyst.

The game is also broadcast live on FOX Sports Arizona Plus and FOX Sports Southwest PLUS, while also being replayed on Saturday, October 28 at 1:30 am MT and Sunday, October 29 at 1:00 am MT.

HOMECOMING
Saturday's contest between the Aggies and Red Wolves features Homecoming/Ag Day sponsored by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture. A week full of events at NM State including the Homecoming Bonfire & Concert at Lot 30 East of the Pan Am from 6 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Then Saturday features the Homecoming Parade from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on University Ave. prior to the game.

SCOUTING THE RED WOLVES
Arkansas State enters Aggie Memorial Stadium on Saturday with a 4-2 overall record and 3-0 mark in the Sun Belt. The Red Wolves also sit on a three-game winning streak over conference foes to a combined score of 141-45.

The opponent has totaled 2,844 yards of total offense (474.0 per game) with 1,966 yards through the air and 878 on the ground. Defensively, the Red Wolves have allowed 2,515 yards and an average of 22.5 points per game.

Arkansas State looks to quarterback Justice Hansen on the offensive side of the ball as the redshirt junior has thrown for 1,862 yards and 21 touchdowns with a 64.4 completion percentage.

The Red Wolves defense is led by linebacker Kyle Wilson and defensive back BJ Edmonds who have 48 and 47 total tackles, respectively. Arkansas State's defense as a whole has tallied 49 tackles for loss, seven forced fumbles and six interceptions.

NOTABLES: LAST GAME
- For the second time this season NM State scored on their first drive of the game (UNM on 9/9)
- This was the first time this season NM State has begun a game with back-to-back scoring drives
- Greg Hogan recorded his first touchdown catch of the season.
- The two field goals allowed tied a season-high for the Aggies.
- Conner Cramer recorded his first touchdown pass since doing so last season at South Alabama (12/3/16).
- Jason Huntley recorded his second-straight game with 100+ all-purpose yards.
- Anthony Muse recorded a career-high in receiving yards (106).
- Jason Huntley set a career-high in receptions (11).
- Over the last three games, the Aggies have only allowed 10 points in the third quarter.

 AN NM STATE WIN WOULD…
- Mark the highest win total for NM State since 2011

- Be the most wins for the Aggies under head coach Doug Martin

- End a four-game losing streak to the Red Wolves

- Be the quickest NM State has won four games since 2007

CHANGE THE RECORD
Entering week nine, NM State senior running back Larry Rose III and redshirt senior quarterback Tyler Rogers look to etch their names further into the program's record book. The two players sit in the top-5 for a combined 11 career offensive records for the Aggies.

Rose III already has his name second all-time for rushing yards (4,110) and third in carries (677). The running back also sits in fourth for rushing touchdowns (30) and all-purpose yards (4,982) and sixth in scoring (204).

Rogers also looks to rewrite the record books as he is second all-time in passing yards (8,851), completions (777), attempts (1,316), passing touchdowns (61), total offense (9,469) and total touchdowns (72).
