ALBUQUERQUE – The NM State women's tennis team finished up the second day of action in #Aggiequerque Saturday afternoon at the Halloween Howl.
Â
Doubles action didn't start the way NM State had envisioned as the Aggies dropped all three matches to Northern Arizona's doubles teams.
Â
Vanessa Valdez battled in the second set, but eventually fell to UTEP's Lois Wagenvoort in the top singles flight 6-2, 7-6 (1).
Rebecca Keijzerwaard lost her match in similar fashion, 6-3, 7-6 (1).
Â
Lindsay Harlas bested Maria Media from UTEP 7-5, 6-2 in the third singles flight while
Yadira Rubio took care of the Miners' Erandi Martinez 6-1, 6-3.
Eli Arnaudova was just shy of gaining momentum with a win in the first set before falling to UNM's Natasha Munday 7-5, 6-2.
Helena Colvee wasn't able to fend off her opponent from New Mexico and dropped her match to Yue Lin Chen 6-1, 6-2.
Â
New Mexico State concludes the Halloween Howl on Sunday, starting with doubles at 10 a.m. before moving on with singles action. The Aggies open up doubles action against UTEP while their singles matches are slated to be against New Mexico.
