DENVER – New Mexico State women's soccer forward
Devin Hart was named Offensive Player of the Week by the Western Athletic Conference on Monday morning.
Hart played a significant role in the 1-0-1 start for the Aggies in WAC play. In the match against CSU Bakersfield, she assisted the equalizer at 87:25 to send the 2-2 game into overtime. Following two overtime segments, no shots made it past either goalkeeper, resulting in a draw. Two days later, NM State hosted Grand Canyon where she scored the first goal and gave the Aggies an early 1-0 lead. GCU followed up with a goal of their own in the first half and ultimately led to a double-overtime battle after two scoreless periods. In the 102nd minute, Hart found the back of the net on a cross and scored the golden goal for the Aggies in its 2-1 victory.
New Mexico State will resume WAC action with two on-the-road matches. First up will be Utah Valley on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. (MT). The Aggies then head to Seattle U for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, Oct. 14.
