Galloway Named WAC Golfer of the Month

NM State women’s golfer Dominique Galloway earned WAC Golfer of the Month on Thursday.

DENVER, COLO. – The Western Athletic Conference announced golfers of the month on Thursday afternoon. After posting a pair of top-15 finishes in the month of October, NM State women's golfer Dominique Galloway earned WAC Golfer of the Month for the first time in her Aggie career.
 
Galloway posted the lowest score on the NM State women's golf roster in each of the teams October tournaments. With a second place finish in the NM State Aggie Invitational, a new personal best, and 13th at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
 
The Rio Rancho, N.M. native's round score of 69 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown was also a career-low. For the month of October, the sophomore led the WAC with a 71.83 scoring average.
 
The golfer also posted a career-best 18-hole score in the second round of the Las Vegas Showdown, firing a 3-under-par 69. On the season, Galloway leads the WAC with a 71.58 stroke average through 12 rounds.
 
NM State women's golf wrapped up the fall season with two first-place finishes and the team looks to carry that momentum into the spring season which begins at the Bruin/Wave Invitational in San Luis Obispo, Calif., Feb. 26-27.
