New Mexico State women’s basketball acquires point guard, Tayelin Grays, for 2018-19 season.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's basketball team bolstered its roster for the 2018-19 season with the addition of point guard, Tayelin Grays.

"What I love about Tayelin is that she can play on and off the ball and has a great tempo about her," head coach Brooke Atkinson said. "She is a powerful and explosive athlete and a true competitor. Taye's floor vision is special and makes everyone around her better. Aggie fans will love Taye on and off the floor and we couldn't be happier to welcome her to the NMSU family."

The Dayton, Texas native attended Dayton High School. During her sophomore season, Grays helped lead the Broncos to a 26-12 record and finished fourth in the league. As a junior, she assisted the Broncos to a second-place finish with a 27-5 record. Thus far in her high school career, Grays has earned First Team All-District and TGCA All-Star team honors along with Co-Newcomer of the Year, Academic All-District, Dayton HS MVP, District Offensive MVP, All-Region, All-State and Player of the Week by the Liberty Vindicator.

Grays comes to NM State for the 2018-19 season as a 5-8 freshman who will add depth to the guard position for the Aggies.
