Mack Named WAC Player of the Week

NM State senior Moriah Mack was named the WAC Player of the Week after wins over two WAC opponents

DENVER – NM State senior guard Moriah Mack was named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Aggies to two victories, while averaging 14.5 points and 4.5 assists, to go along with four steals and one block, over 76 minutes of play.
 
The San Antonio, Texas native led the Aggies to a pair of conference this past week as the team sits on an 11-game winning streak. In the first game of the week on Thursday against CSU Bakersfield, she scored 14 points and dished out a season-high seven assists to go with four rebounds and a pair of steals as the team defeated the Roadrunners, 69-55.
 
On Sunday at the Play4Kay pink game, the senior finished tied for a team-high with 15 points, three rebounds, and a couple key steals in a game which saw NM State comeback late in the game to defeat conference for GCU, 67-60.
 
The clutch steals add to Mack's list as she currently leads the WAC with 2.8 per game. The guard also shot 4-6 (.667 3FG%) from three-point range on the week, as her totals in WAC games, 14-10 (.467 3FG%), good for second in the conference.  
 
Mack and the Aggies look to keep the momentum rolling as they play in their final home game of the season against the UTRGV Vaqueros on Fb. 18 at 2 p.m. MT.
