First Round Results
HUMBLE, Texas – The first day of the All-America Intercollegiate at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas was called early due to darkness on Friday. After most golfers had completed about 15 holes, NM State men's golf currently sits in a tie for 10th out of 18 teams after shooting a +6.
Luis Medina leads the way for the Aggies as he sits in a tie for 12th after shooting a 60 (-1) through 15 holes. Behind Medina is freshmen
Jack Snyder and
Ryo Harada who are tied for 33rd, firing a 62 (+1) with three holes to go in their first rounds.
Isaac Merry sits in a tie for 75th as the Aggie completed his first round with a score of 77 (+5). The only other NM State golfer to complete their first round was
Michael McGilton who rounds out the group with a score of 79 (+7), putting him in a tie for 85th..
After the first day of competition, host Houston sits in first at -9, followed by second place Baylor with a completed team round of 284 (-4) and then SMU in third at -2.
Teams that did not finish their first rounds will resume play at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow and second round play for all teams will commence at 9:45 a.m.
