LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's golf team heads to Peoria, Ariz. to take part in a 13-team tournament at the Westbrook Spring Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin.
The Aggies, along with host Wisconsin, are joined on the course by Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon State, UC Davis and Washington State.
The 54-hole invitational will be played over two days at the Westbrook Village Golf Club (Vistas Course) on Feb. 26 and 27. Play will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT on Sunday, followed by a second round beginning at 1 p.m. The final round will commence with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Monday. Pun Chanachai,
Kristen Cline,
Dominique Galloway,
Kennedie Montoya, and
Camille Orito will represent the Aggies this weekend.
Maria Prado will be competing as an individual.
Team play is led by freshman
Pun Chanachai who paces the team with a 72.90 stroke average through 10 rounds. Chanachai was also named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week, February 15, on the opening week of spring play.
The Vistas Course at the Westbrook Village Golf Club is a 6,269 yard, par-72 layout designed by Ken Cavannaugh.
Following the Westbrook Spring Invitational, the Aggies will then travel to Tucson, Ariz. to take part in the Mountain View Collegiate, March 10-12.
