PEORIA, Ariz. – The New Mexico State women's golf team completed day one of the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz. on Sunday. After two rounds of play, the Aggies sit in fifth place out of 13 teams with a team score of 585 (+9).
Play for NM State features two Aggies posting top-20 scores.
Dominique Galloway leads the way with scores of 72-72—144 (E) which places the freshman in a tie for 11th. Just behind Galloway,
Kristen Cline fired a tournament-low 67, followed by a second round score of 78 to post a 145 (+1) and complete day one in a tie for 16th.
Camille Orito and
Pun Chanachai are tied for 35th as they each finished with a 36-hole total of 149 (+5). Chanachai also leads the Aggies with four of the team's 11 birdies.
Rounding out the lineup,
Kennedie Montoya shot a 75-76—151 (+7), as she sits in a tie for 47th.
Maria Prado, competing as an individual, is tied for 58th after shooting a 75-79—154 (+10).
Heading into Monday's final round of competition, Kansas sits in first place with a score of 576 (E), followed by Kansas State in second with a total of 578 (+2) and Illinois in third at 580 (+4).
