TUCSON, Ariz. – The New Mexico State women's golf team continued their strong play as the team wrapped up day two at the MountainView Collegiate in third place out of 13 teams. NM State fired a 291 in the second round as their total sits at 580 (+4).
Four NM State golfers currently sit in the top-20 through 36 holes.
Camille Orito leads the way for the squad as her round scores of 70-73—143 (-1) has the Aggie tied for fourth.
Just behind Orito is freshman Pun Chanahcai with totals of 70-74—144 (E) as she sits in a tie for eighth.
Dominique Galloway has fired back-to-back rounds of 73 to put her score at 146 (+2) as she is tied for 12th.
Also in the top-20 is NM State's
Kristen Cline with rounds of 76-71—147 (+3) which puts her in a tie for 18th. Rounding out the Aggie starters is
Maria Prado who is in a tie for 45th with a two day total of 152 (+8).
Kennedie Montoya is competing as an individual and is tied for 53rd, posting a score of 155 (+11).
Heading into Sunday's final round of competition, Arizona sits in first place with a score of 561 (-15), followed by Houston in second with a total of 578 (+2) and the Aggies in third at 580 (+4).
