LAREDO, Texas – The New Mexico State men's golf completed the Border Olympics on Saturday at Laredo Country Club. After the two round event, the Aggies finished in 12th place out of 19 teams with a score of 580 (+4).
Play for NM State was led by Isaac Merry who posted totals of 74-69—143 (-1) to finish in a tie for 23rd. Behind Merry was senior Luis Medina who tied for 37th after firing a 71-74—145 (+1).
Jack Snyder and Ryo Harada tied for 46th as they posted a two round score of 146 (+2). Rounding out the Aggie starters was Tadhg Campbell with a total of 154 (+10) to finish in a tie for 90th. Tanvir Kahlon competed as an individual and also put up a score of 154 (+10) to tie with Campbell for 90th.
At the conclusion of the Border Olympics, Campbell took home first place honors after firing a 559 (-17), while Houston finished in second at 564 (-12) and UTSA took third with a score of 565 (-11).
The NM State men's golf team will compete next at the Lone Star Invitational, March 19-21, in San Antonio, Texas.
