TUCSON, ARIZ. - Â The Aggies wrapped up their first outdoor meet of the season on Saturday as the team competed in the second day of the Willie Williams Classic.
Kayli Farmer and Keyarha Wilson went one and two, respectively, in the high jump. Farmer took home the gold with a best jump of 1.70 meters (5-6.75). Wilson jumped 1.65 meters (5-4.75) for second. Hannah Smith also competed in the event taking fourth (1.60 meters, 5-2.75).
Akuadasuo Ezenyilimba placed fourth out of the collegiate competition in the discus as the senior threw 43.03 meters (141-2). Taylor Stutely also competed in the event throwing 40.27 meters (132-1.25).
Hannah Smith placed first out of the collegiate competition participating in the women's triple jump. She finished with a best 11.72 meters (38-5.25). Jocelyn Jordan finished just behind Smith as she jumped 11.19 meters (36-8.5).
On the track, Crissey Amberg took first in the women's 800 meters as she clocked in with a best time of 2:12.97. Ashleyann Hall placed in the top three as she finished with a time of 2:17.25. Julia Yescas also competed in the event finishing with a time of 2:19.55.
Kim Rossen finished placed third among the collegiate competition in the 400 meters as she clocked in at 56.97.
Lashira Tremble and LaShya Cole placed in the 100 meters. Tremble finished second with a time of 12.08. Cole placed fifth with a time of 12.23.
New Mexico State is back in action on Saturday, March 25, as the Aggies head to I-10 rival UTEP for the UTEP Springtime Meet.
