DENVER – New Mexico State women's tennis junior
Rimpledeep Kaur was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second-consecutive week on Tuesday.
Â
This is the third weekly conference honor for Kaur, two now during dual play and once during the fall slate, and the fourth overall for New Mexico State.
Â
Kaur led NM State to a 2-1 record in Las Cruces last weekend when the Aggies hosted the first WAC pod. Individually, the Jassowal, India, native went undefeated in both singles and doubles action. The junior went 3-0 in singles play against WAC opponents, all at the No. 1 position, and led her Iowa State counterpart before the match was clinched.
Â
In doubles action, Kaur went 4-0 at the No. 2 slot with teammate
Marie-Pier Thiffault. Kaur and Thiffault didn't allow more than four points to their opponents. Kaur has now won five-straight singles matches and four-straight doubles contests heading into this week's action.
Â
New Mexico State is schedule to square off against Wyoming in a non-conference matchup at noon on Thursday, March 23. The Aggies will then take on Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico at noon on Saturday, March 25 in #Aqqiequerue.
