LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men's golf team heads to Bryan, Texas to face off against 12 teams at the Aggie Invitational, April 1-2. The two-day event will be hosted by Texas A&M and played at the Traditions Club.
Of the Aggies 12 opponents, the tournament pits the group against four teams ranked in the top-10 nationally and nine teams in the top-30, according to GolfWeek. Joining the Aggies on the links is No. 27 Arkansas, No. 4 Baylor, No. 7 Kent State, No. 8 LSU, Michigan, No. 29 North Carolina, North Texas, No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 18 Texas, No. 16 Texas A&M, No. 13 Texas Tech and UTSA.
The Aggie Invitational consists of 54-holes played over two days of competition. The first two rounds will be played on Saturday, April 1 and will begin at 6:30 a.m. MT. The final round on Sunday, April 2 also tees off at 6:30 a.m. The invitational will be played at Traditions Club which is a par-72 course with a 7,146 yard layout. Starting for NM State this weekend is Davis Chung, Ryo Harada, Luis Medina, Isaac Merry and Jack Snyder. Medina currently leads the team with a 73.39 stroke average over 26 rounds this year, followed closely behind by Snyder at 73.65.
After the Aggie Invitational, the New Mexico State men's golf squad heads just south to Wolfdancer Golf Course in Cedar Creek, Texas to close out the regular season at the Jim West Intercollegiate, April 10-11.
