ABILENE, Texas – The New Mexico State women's tennis team cruised past Hardin-Simmons on Tuesday, pummeling the Cowgirls 9-0 at the Eager Tennis Center.

The Aggies battled the Cowgirls under the host rules with each doubles match counting as one point. The NM State No. 3 duo of
Lindsay Harlas and
Gabrielle Joyce blew past their opponents 8-0.
Vanessa Valdez and
Elizabeth Geronimo followed suit and easily defeated HSU's team on court No. 2 8-3. The top Aggie doubles team of
Rimpledeep Kaur and
Marie-Pier Thiffault gave NM State the 3-0 lead when they topped Hardin-Simmon's No. 1 doubles team 8-4.

Singles play was no different for the Aggies as Joyce blanked her foe on court No. 6 to clinch the 4-0 victory before Thiffault and Kaur extended the lead to 6-0. Harlas dispatched her opponent at No. 4 singles before Valdez and Geronimo secured the sweep.

New Mexico State will now turn its focus towards Abilene Christian, who it'll play on Wednesday, March 8, at 11 a.m. (MT).
