LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's golf team heads to Tucson, Ariz. to take part in the MountainView Collegiate Invitational from March 10-12.
Looking ahead to the weekend's event, coach
Danny Bowen said, "We're excited to get to MountainView. We've been to this tournament the last few years now and are really comfortable with the golf course. It is a fun course that the girls love to play. As far as the competition goes, it will most likely be an even stronger field than last week in Phoenix, so we definitely have our work cut out for us. We look forward to the challenge!"
The Aggies will be joined on the links by Arizona, Central Arkansas, Colorado State, Houston, Kansas State, Middle Tennessee State, Missouri, North Texas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Redlands CC and UNLV.
The 54-hole invitational will be played over three days, March 10-12, at the MountainView Golf Club. Play will begin with on Friday at 8:30 a.m. MT with the first 18 holes. Saturday's round will see the teams tee off at 12:30 p.m., while Sunday's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. to close out the competition. Each round will use a shotgun start to open play.

Kristen Cline,
Dominique Galloway,
Camille Orito and
Maria Prado will represent the Aggies this weekend.
Kennedie Montoya will be competing as an individual.
Team play is led by freshman
Pun Chanachai who paces the team with a 73.00 stroke average through 13 rounds, including three top-25 finishes. Chanachai was also named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week, February 15, on the opening week of spring play.
Kristen Cline is just behind Chanachai with a stroke average of 73.81. Cline also earned Player of the Week honors (March 1) after the senior's strong performance at the Westbrook Spring Invitational.

Following the MountainView Collegiate, the Aggies will travel south to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to compete in the Hawkeye 'El Tigre' Invitational, April 2-4.
