SAN MARCOS, TEXAS -Â Â New Mexico State track and field competed in the second day of the Bobcat Invitational on Friday.
On the track, Crissey Amberg won the 5,000m as the junior ran a new personal best and finished the event with a time of 17:07.26. Cassey Amberg also ran a new personal best the 5K as she clocked in with a time of 17:50.89. Julia Yescas competed in the 1,500m and finished seventh with time of 4:48.23. In the 400m hurdles, Nia Garcia won her heat and placed 10th overall as she clocked in at 1:04.88.
On the field, Kayli Farmer placed fourth in the high jump with a best mark of 1.65m (5-5). Akuadasuo Ezenyilimba followed her record setting performance in the discus on Thursday by placing ninth in the hammer throw on Friday. The senior threw 49.19m (161-05) in the event.
The Aggies are back in action for the final day of the Bobcat Invitational on Saturday. The first event is the women's javelin which begins at 8 a.m.
