SAN MARCOS, TEXAS -Â New Mexico State track and field competed in the final day of the Bobcat Invitational on Saturday.
"We had several improvements in the throws, middle distance and sprints," co-interim head coach Larry Carmichael said.
On the field, Kayli Farmer won the women's javelin as she threw a mark of 43.72m (143-5) on her fifth attempt. Alyssa Covarrubia placed sixth in the event with a mark of 38.21m (125-4).
Many of the Aggies sprinters saw improvements at the meet. Lashira Tremble clocked in at 11.86 in the 100m. Tanisha Scott also competed in the 100m as she finished with a time of 12.02. Kim Rossen had the top time for NM State in the 200m as she finished with a time of 25.05.
The women's 4x100 relay team of Tremble, Scott, Dominique Joiner, and Arniesha Mitchell placed sixth as the team clocked in at 47.40. Ashleyann Hall took eighth in the 800m as she finished with a time of 2:15.03.
"Overall, it was a successful three days of track and field for the team," Carmichael said.
New Mexico State is back in action on Saturday, April 8, as the team travels to Waco, Texas, for the Baylor Invite.
