LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's golf team travels south across the border to take part in the Hawkeye 'El Tigre' Invitational in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico, April 2-4. The 14-team field will play at El Tigre Golf Club for the three-day event hosted by the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Joining the Aggies and host Hawkeyes on the links will be CSU Fullerton, Coastal Carolina, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Rutgers, UTSA, Washington and Wisconsin.  

The 54-hole event will begin on Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m. MT, followed by round two on Monday, April 3 at 2 p.m. The final round of play will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4. Each round will commence with a shotgun start. Live stats for the invitational can be followed on Golfstat.

The starting lineup for NM State will include Pun Chanachai, Kristen Cline, Dominique Galloway, Camille Orito and Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico native Vale Macias. Chanachai currently leads the Aggies with a stroke average of 72.63, followed just behind by Cline at 73.79. The two Aggies have combined to grab four top-10 and 10 top-25 finishes this season.

The El Tigre Golf Club where these teams will compete is a par-72 course with a 6,085 yard layout. Weather through the tournament looks clear with highs of 81 degrees and a zero percent chance of rain during the three days of competition.

After the Hawkeye 'El Tigre' Invitational the New Mexico State women's golf team will travel to Tulsa, Okla. for the Dale McNamara Invitational, April 10-11, to close out the team's regular season.
