BASTROP, Texas – The New Mexico State men's golf squad wrapped up day one of the Jim West Intercollegiate at the Wolfdancer Golf Club in Bastrop, Texas. Through the first two rounds, the Aggies sit in 3rd place out of 12 teams with a 36-hole total of 576 (E).
Individual play for NM State was led by
Ryo Harada who sits alone in first place, three strokes ahead of second, with round totals of 71-65—136 (-8). The second round score of 65 is a career-high for Harada and a team-high for the Aggies this season.
Luis Medina and
Michael McGilton are tied for 25th posting two-round totals of 147 (+3).
Jack Snyder put up rounds of 73-75—148 (+4) to sit in a tie for 33rd. Rounding out the Aggie starters is
Isaac Merry in a tie for 38th posting scores of 74-74—149 (+5).
Davis Chung, competing as an individual, posted a 157 (+13) to put him in 59th after day one.
Harada leads the team with birdies after firing 13 over the first 36 holes of competition. Medina and Snyder each recorded one eagle apiece on day one.
Heading into the final round Rice leads the field at 574 (-2), Southeastern Louisiana is in second with a score of 575 (-1) and NM State is in third posting a total of 576 (E).
