BASTROP, Texas – The New Mexico State men's golf squad saw their two-round total at the Jim West Intercollegiate stand as their final after lightning cancelled the final round of play. The team's score of 577 (+1) placed them in a tie for third.
Individual play for NM State saw
Ryo Harada take home medalist honors in first place with totals of 71-65—136 (-8). The second round score of 65 is a career-high for Harada, a team-high for the Aggies this season and ties a record for the lowest round score at the Jim West Intercollegiate.
Luis Medina and
Michael McGilton tied for 25th posting two-round totals of 147 (+3).
Davis Chung, competing as an individual, posted a 157 (+13) to put him in 59th after day one.
At the end of the tournament Rice took home first place at 574 (-2), Southeastern Louisiana finished in second with a score of 575 (-1) and NM State tied for third with UT Arlington at 577 (+1).
The intercollegiate concluded the regular season for the Aggies. The team now travels to Mesa, Ariz. for the WAC Championships, April 28-30.
