DENVER – New Mexico State sophomore men's tennis player
Stijn de Haan was named this week's Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week after going undefeated in both singles and doubles over the weekend in Seattle.

The Veldhoven, Netherlands, product finished the conference season a perfect 5-0 in singles action and 4-1 at No. 2 doubles with
Mauri Benitez. He is the fourth Aggie to earn a weekly conference honor this year and is the eighth time NM State has brought home a weekly recognition award.

De Haan gave up no more than three points per set and was the first Aggie to secure the win in singles play on all three days. In addition to winning all three matches of singles action, the sophomore also teamed up with
Mauri Benitez to go 3-0 in doubles action.

With the 3-0 run last weekend, NM State secured its third-straight regular-season WAC title. The Aggies return home for the first time in over two months after playing 18 matches on the road. New Mexico State wraps up its regular-season schedule with Western New Mexico this Wednesday, April 12, at 2 p.m. before concluding play on Sunday at 10 a.m. against UT Permian Basin.
