DENVER – New Mexico State women's tennis freshman 
Rebecca Keijzerwaard was named this week's Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week after going 3-0 last week in non-conference action.
 
This is Keijzerwaard's second player of the week award and the second for NM State in as many weeks. This week's honor is also the Aggies' fifth player of the week award in the dual season and the sixth overall, including the one in the fall.
 
In her first match of the week, the freshman easily took care of Western New Mexico's Annely Heinze 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles before fighting off UTSA's No. 3 singles player Charleeen Tiwari on April 7, 7-6, 7-5.
 
Keijzerwaard teamed up with fellow freshman 
Vanessa Valdez and took their opening doubles match 6-2 at No. 1 doubles and was leading UTSA's top doubles team 4-3 before the doubles point was decided.
 
NM State is scheduled face Battle of I-10 rival UTEP on Friday, April 14, at 11 a.m. (MT) before hosting its final match of the regular-season at home against UT Permian Basin at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 16, at the NM State Tennis Center.
