LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State track and field team travels to California as the team competes at the Cal State LA Twilight Open and the Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday, April 13.Â
"We look forward to some high-level and exciting track and field competition later this week," co-interim head coach Larry Carmichael said. Â "We are entering individuals in special events in both track meets. This will be a good test for our team."
This is the second time during the outdoor season the team has been split for meets. Previously, Kayli Farmer participated at the Texas Relays while her teammates competed at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational. After placing 10th in the javelin with a mark of 39.98m (131-2) at the Texas Relays, Farmer joined the team in San Marcos, Texas, where she won the javelin with a mark of 43.72m (143-5).
NM State begins the Cal State LA Twilight Classic with the women's long jump at 1:30 p.m. (MT). The Aggies open the Bryan Clay Invitational with the women's 5,000m at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday.
