ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's golf team concluded the 2016-17 season after the third round of play at the NCAA Regionals on Wednesday. After 54 holes, the Aggies finished in 14th place out of 18 teams with a score of 909 (+45).
Pun Chanachai finished with the best individual round of the tournament for NM State on day three and carded totals of 78-74-73—225 (+9).
Dominique Galloway tied for 43rd at 75-74-78—227 (+11).
Kristen Cline finished with rounds of 76-75-77—228 (+12) to tie for 49th.
Vale Macias was right on her heels posting scores of 78-74-77—229 (+13) which put the golfer in a tie for 57th.
Camille Orito rounded out the Aggie lineup carding an 82-77-81—240 (+24) to finish tied for 86th.
No. 1 Stanford won the Albuquerque Regional with a three-day total of 866 (+2), followed by Duke in second at 873 (+9) and Pepperdine to complete the top-three at 879 (+15). The remianing three teams qualifying for the NCAA Championship from this region were USC at 884 (+20), as well as Cal and Miami (Florida) who tied at 888 (+24).
An impressive season saw the NM State capture its fourth straight WAC Championship and have individual golfers post 14 top-10 and 29 top-25 finishes through 10 events across the fall and spring seasons.
