LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State Athletic Department will kick off the 2017-18 athletic season on Friday, Aug. 25, with its annual Aggies in Paradise fundraiser. The island-themed event is slated to begin at 6 p.m. (MT) on the 50-yard line at Aggie Memorial Stadium.
 
Fans are encouraged to come out and have fun with fellow Aggie supporters, meet student-athletes, coaches and staff members.  This year's event features a dinner and a host bar in addition to silent and live auctions.
 
Last year's event saw a record crowd of over 450 Aggie supporters and raised nearly $35,000 for the Aggie Athletic Club. The mission of the AAC is to offset the educational expenses for NM State student-athletes.
