LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State football program is set to meet with Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico on Sept. 9 up in Albuquerque, N.M. The sides have been given a kickoff of 6 p.m. MT at Dreamstyle Stadium.
Heading into the 108th match-up between the two teams, UNM leads the series 70-32-5 over NM State. The Aggies took down the Lobos, 32-31, at Aggie Memorial Stadium back on Sept. 10, 2016 when the two squads last met. The victory was the first for NM State since their 42-28 victory at UNM back on Oct. 1, 2011. Â
NM State returns plenty of experience as they bring back 17 starters from last year's team that toppled their in-state rival while the Lobos return just 10.
