The NM State men’s tennis team looks to keep its momentum going this weekend at the Wildcat Invite.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men's tennis team is headed Tucson, Ariz., for the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Arizona at the Ventana Racquet Club this weekend (Sept. 22-24).

The three-day tournament features seven teams, including Northern Arizona, Grand Canyon, Arizona Christian, Fresno State, New Mexico State, San Diego State and host Arizona. The Carinal singles draw is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. (MT) while the Navy single draw starts at 10:30 a.m. followed by the White singles draw starting at 11 a.m. Meanwhile, the Cardinal and Navy doubles draw kicks off at 9 a.m.

Luis Flores opens the weekend off against GCU's Mathieu Rajaonah, who is the sixth-overall seed in the Cardinal singles draw, while Sergi Espias faces the No. 5-overall seed from Fresno State – Henrique Osorio. Stijn de Haan is the seventh-overall seed and will get an early look at a league opponent as he squares off against Grand Canyon's Valentine Lang.

In the Navy singles draw, Mauri Benitez was awarded the No. 3-overall seed and will face Arizona Christian's Enzo Douillac. Enrique Asmar wraps up the Aggie presence in that draw with a match-up against the Lopes' Gregoire Balenci – who is the eighth-overall seed.

Wrapping up the singles side of things are Alejandro Rosas Garcia and Yusuke Nishitani. Rosas Garcia will have a tall task at hand, opening tournament play against Adi Zilberstein – the top-seeded player from the White singles draw from NAU. Nishitani enters the weekend as the No. 2-overall seed in his draw and will play against Jesse Miritello of ACU.

De Haan and Benitez earned a bye in the opening round of the Cardinal doubles draw as the No. 4-overall seed and will face the winner between Arizona and San Diego State. Flores will play with Louis Menard in the absence of his usual partner, Christofer Goncalves, who is currently playing in the Oracle ITA Masters. The two will take on Northern Arizona's Felix Schumann and Tom Fisher.

In the Navy doubles draw, the Aggie tandem of Asmar and Espias get a bye and will face the winner between Fresno State and Grand Canyon while Nishitani and Rosas Garcia take on Zilberstein and Harun Ajanovic.
