@NMStateSwimDive to Host Annual Crimson and White Meet

NM State Swimming and Diving previews the season with its annual Crimson and White meet.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's swimming and diving team hosts its annual Crimson and White meet on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 4 p.m. (MT) located at the NM State Swimming and Diving Complex. Admission is free to students and the public.

"The Crimson and White meet is a fun way to start things for us competitively," head coach Rick Pratt said. "It lets us see where they're at with training over the past month, and to practice the format of dual meets heading into October. We've had a real productive couple of weeks and I know they're anxious to race. It's also a good chance to practice being supportive as a team in a meet environment. We're expecting some gritty races and high-spirited energy."

The meet consists of 10 events and two relays, which will be the 500 Free, 200 Free, 100 Free, 50 Free, 200 IM, 100 Fly, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 3m dive, 1m dive, 200 Medley relay and 200 Free relay. Scoring for the individual events will include five points for first place, three points for second place and one point for third place. For the relays, first place will receive seven points with second place earning zero points.

The Aggies kick off its 2017-18 season at home against Western Athletic Conference competitor, Northern Colorado, at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 14.
