Women's Tennis Posts Wins on Saturday

The NM State women’s tennis team won 3-of-4 singles matches on Saturday at the CU Invite.

BOULDER, Colo. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team had solid day on the courts, capturing 3-of-4 singles matches on Saturday at the CU Invitational.

Day three of action started with singles play first as Rebecca Keijzerwaard defeated Camila Romero, the top-seeded player, from Oklahoma 6-4, 6-4 in consolation play. Lindsay Harlas also saw action in the black singles draw, but couldn't fend off Colorado's Anabelle Andinopoulos 6-2, 6-4 in the third-place match.

Yadira Rubio beat out fellow newcomer Quinty Janssen in the seventh-place match in the gold singles draw 6-4, 6-4. Meanwhile, Eli Arnaudova defeated Yue Chen from New Mexico in a hard-fought battle for third-place 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-3 in the silver singles draw. In an additional match, Helena Colvee was bested by CU's Brigitte Beck 6-2, 6-1.

NM State struggled in doubles action on Saturday, dropping all three matches Saturday afternoon. However, the Aggies will have another day to tune everything up for doubles and compete on Sunday.
