COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – The New Mexico State men's golf team wrapped up day one of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational on Friday. Through 18 holes, the Aggies sit in seventh place out of 19 teams with a score of 289 (+1).
Team play was led by a trio of NM State golfers –
Tadhg Campbell,
Michael McGilton and
Taylor Stote – who all shot a first round 72 (E) which put them in a tie for 24th.
Jack Snyder followed closely behind as he fired a 73 (+1) to put the sophomore in a tie for 38
th. Rounding out the Aggie starters was veteran
Isaac Merry with a day one total of 76 (+4) to finish in a tie for 77
th.
For the Aggie individuals,
Ryo Harada played 17 holes and shot a 73 (+6) and now sits in a tie for 93
rd. Freshman
Thomas Tulk fired an 82 (+10) which put the golfer in a tie for 107
th.
Heading into the second day of competition, Colorado State sits atop the leaderboard at 282 (-6), followed by Colorado and Wyoming who are tied for second with a total of 284 (-4), with UTEP at 285 (-3) in fourth place and UNLV rounding out the top-five with a score of 286 (-2).
