TUCSON, Ariz. – The New Mexico State men's golf team completed the first round of play at the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson, Ariz. at the Sewailo Golf Club on Monday. Through 18 holes, the Aggies sit in 12
th place with a team score of 321 (+37).
Team play in round one was led by mid-year addition
Tristin Goodwin who registered a score of 79 (+7) to put the sophomore in a tie for 33
rd.
Isaac Merry and
Michael McGilton tied for 49
th through 18 holes with a total of 80 (+8).
Tadhg Campbell followed closely behind with a score of 82 (+10) which puts the Aggie in a tie for 64
th heading into day two. The NM State starting lineup rounded out with
Ryo Harada who shot an 86 (+14) on day one.
Jack Snyder led the Aggie individuals with an 18-hole score of 78 (+6).
Cooper Donahue and
Tyler Svendson then tied for 32
nd shooting an eight-over (80).
Baylor leads the team leaderboard with a round one total of 303 (+19), followed by St. Mary's at 304 (+20) and UT San Antonio in third who shot a 306 (+22).
The second round of play suspended due to darkness and is set to resume on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 8 a.m. MT with round three following directly after to conclude the tournament.
