RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – The New Mexico State men's golf team wrapped up day one of competition at the USD Intercollegiate on the Farm Golf Course. Through one round of play the Aggies sit in ninth place out of 11 teams with an 18-hole score of 297 (+9).
Team play was led by
Michael McGilton on the first day who fired a one-under, 71, to sit in a tie for 11
th.
Arthur Doorn followed behind shooting a 73 (+1) which put the Aggies in a tie for 24
th.
Isaac Merry heads into day two tied for 39
th after posting a round one score of 76 (+4).
Ryo Harada placed in a tie for 46
th after 18 holes with a total of 77 (+5) and
Tadhg Campbell rounded out the starters with an 82 (+10) to tie for 67
th.
Cooper Donahue, competing as an individual, sits in a tie for 67
th with Campbell after firing an 82.
The team leaderboard is led by No. 25 Santa Clara at 285 (-3), followed by No. 21 UCLA and Cal Poly tied for second with a score of 289 (+1). Host San Diego sits in fourth at 291 (+3) and San Francisco is in fifth after firing a 292 (+4).
Round two was called early due to darkness and is set to resume on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 7:15 a.m. MT. The final round will proceed directly after with players remaining in their same pairings. Live scoring for the tournament can be followed on
